What's up everybody? Yours truly Rob J with the Keeping It Real with Rob J Podcast because real life deserves real talk. Let's start off by saying happy Easter to everybody. Let's go. It's Holy Week. Now, listen, for you guys that know me, know that I love Jesus. Um, I'm not here to preach at you today, though. So listen, just let's get that off the plate. I'm not here to preach to you, but there's a story. There's a story that we need to talk about. Because Easter is deeper than eggs, baskets, and family dinners, right? And let's be real. Most of us are already worrying about what we're gonna be eating on Easter Sunday, right? Like, what's Easter, Easter food? Ham, mashed potatoes. Oh, those deviled eggs. Man, I tell you what, my wife makes some killer doubled eggs. It's one of the things I look forward to on Easter dinner, right? But for some of y'all, I know it ain't the food, it's only the dessert table. Let's go. I know, I know. I walk into my mother-in-law's house, I'm like, yo, where's the dessert table? Let's get it. And listen, there's no judgment. Because listen, even me, I've said prayers like this before. Like, Lord, bless this food and kind of help me not go back for seconds, thirds, fourths, bend my plate, you know, because we use paper plates over up in here, but uh, and then I go back anyway. But no, honestly, guys, this podcast is pretty special to me to get an opportunity to talk about the story of Easter. Because the story of Easter is bigger than all of that stuff that I just mentioned. It's about one simple idea. That simple idea is the word hope. But not just any hope, real hope. Not the fake kind that when we say, Oh, I hope things work out. No, I'm not talking about all that. I'm talking about the hope when life is messy. The hope when you've made mistakes. Hope when you feel like you're not enough. Who here? Am I the only one in here today that thinks like we're like I'm not enough? No, no, that's the hope that I'm talking about. You see, because the story of Jesus isn't all about perfect people, guys. It's not about perfect people, it's actually about the opposite. Because listen, have you ever had one of those days where everything just goes absolutely terrible? I'm talking those days where from the minute you wake up to the minute you go to bed, nothing works in your favor. Like you wake up late, you spill your coffee if you should be a coffee drinker. I'm personally not one of those, so that wouldn't happen to me, but it would happen to my wife. Kids acting crazy, oh, that's all the time in my house. Phone blowing up, and you're like, Yep, today just ain't it. Today's not the day. Well, guess what? It's actually real life. And the crazy part, those are exactly the kind of people that Jesus surrounded himself with. He didn't hang with the ones who all who had it all together. No, no, no, he didn't do that. The ones, the ones who were figuring it out as they went. Sound familiar? And right in the middle of all of that, here he is, he shows up. Jesus is here, right? A man who didn't come for the perfect, he actually came for the people who felt forgotten. I know it's a little deep, right? See, Jesus didn't show up for the people who had it all together. Jesus came and walked that perfect life on earth for people like you and I who felt forgotten. But listen to this. Before Easter, we gotta talk about that Friday. You guys know what Friday I'm talking about? Yeah, I know. That Good Friday. Because that's where things got real. You see, on Good Friday, Jesus didn't just die. That would have probably been too easy. But Jesus suffered. He was beaten. When you think of when you think of seeing somebody being beaten, yeah, no, no, no. You didn't even, you don't even understand what the word beaten means when it came to what Jesus took. He got mocked and he got nailed to a wooden cross, right? He got nailed to that old wooden, dirty, messed up, crazy. Oh man, I couldn't imagine. Could you imagine your body being nailed to that cross? You think about a splinter that you and I would get, right? And we cry and we'd run to our wives or our parents. No, no, no. Think about the splinters and the things that that that he felt, that Jesus felt. We can't even begin to comprehend. And then think about this. Most of us struggle carrying stress for a day. Maybe even for one bad week. Maybe about one bad situation. Or even one mistake we made years ago. And there's Jesus carrying the weight. Let me say that again. And then here comes Jesus carrying the weight of everything for everyone. And it says it perfectly right here in Isaiah 53:5. It says he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities. The punishment that brought us peace was on him. Let me break that down in real life terms for you and I, for people that may not understand it. It says that thing you replay in your head late at night, that regret, that guilt, that vision, he already paid for that. There's another verse I love so much. Romans 5.8. While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. You notice that it says, while we were yet sinners, Christ died. It doesn't say, not when we got it right, or not when we cleaned up our lives. It says, why we were sinners, meaning right in the middle of our mess, right when we were at our worst, right when we don't deserve it, Christ died for us. He's like, I got you. Can we be honest a little bit here right now on the podcast? We're all a little messy. Now listen, don't get it wrong. I know all y'all got it together on Instagram and Facebook and TikTok and all that. But we all know the truth. Real life, totally different story. I know, trust me. But I also know the part that can feel real heavy. But here's the beauty of it. It wasn't the end of the story. See, Good Friday was just the beginning. Because oh three days later, drum roll, three days later, this is where the magic happened, guys. Three days later, guess what? You see, Good Friday, they laid Jesus in a tomb. But oh three days. Remember that. Oh three days later, guess what happened? The stone was rolled away and the tomb was empty. You see, right then and there, that's the moment where everything changed. In the book of Luke, chapter 24, verse 6, it says, He is not here. He has risen. Ladies and gentlemen, that right there is Easter. That's the shift that took place right there. It's like when you thought something in your life was over. The door was slammed shut. The situation fell apart. And somehow, some way, something greater than you could ever imagine came out of that situation, right? Out of that door being closed. Out of that situation that absolutely absolutely fell apart. And then in the end, you sit back and look and be like, man, how did that happen? How did that outcome take place out of the situation that was awful? That's what this is. It's on a whole different level. Almost uncomprehendable. Like you're like, what? Because if the grave couldn't hold him. Ha! Man, you guys better listen to that again. It says, because if the grave couldn't hold him, then whatever you are facing today doesn't have the final say either, either. And I love this. John 3 16. I don't care if you know Jesus or if you don't have a relationship with Jesus. This is one of the most popular uh verses in the Bible. And it says, For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son. That's not religion. Guys, that's not religion. That's love right there. Guys, are you getting this Easter story? I'm telling you, it's it's it's it's probably it is. I'm not even saying probably. It is the greatest story, the greatest love story you'll ever read, hear, watch. You're actually a part of this love story. Guys, you gotta get this story about Easter. So let me leave you with this. We're not gonna make this podcast long and drawn out. Easter. You don't have to earn it. You don't have to be perfect. And let me tell you, I'll reiterate that. You don't have to be perfect. None of us are perfect. And guess what? You'll never be perfect. And you don't have to have it all figured out. There's days that I try. There's days that I get up and I'm like, I got today. And guess what? The more I try, the worse it turns out. So I'll repeat it again. It says, you don't have to earn it, you don't have to be perfect, and you don't have to have it all figured out. Because guess what? Let me leave you with this. You are not too far gone. You are not too broken. And your story is far from over. So wherever you are today, wherever you're at right now, wherever you're listening to the Keeping It Real with Rob J podcast, all about the greatest story ever. Oh. Just sit with this thought. What if? Are you like me when it comes to what ifs? I love that little phrase. Like, what if? My wife often reminds me because I'm sometimes I'll say, like, man, I can't believe this has happened. And she says, What if it all works out? Gotta love Mel Robbins, right? Love Mel Robbins. She's one of my favorites. She has a 30-minute podcast. It was one of the greatest podcasts I ever listened to in my life. And it simply said, we always pay attention to the what ifs if it goes wrong. But you know, there's such a small percentage that says, what if it all works out? It changes your mindset. So today, right here at the end of this podcast, I want you to sit with this thought. What if? What if hope is real? And what if it's been there the whole time? What if hope is real? And it's been there the whole time. Before you go, before we wrap this show up, I'm gonna pray real fast. It's not something I do on the podcast often, but it's Easter. It's one of the greatest stories ever told. It is an honor and a privilege for me to be able to come on this podcast and share this with you. And um, I love you guys. I love you all. And I hope this uh I hope this is life-changing for you and eye-opening for you. Let's pray and finish this podcast out. God, thank you for today. Thank you for life. Thank you for family, and thank you for another chance. Thank you, God, for the sacrifice and for the hope we have because of it. God, I pray for anybody listening to this podcast right now. If they're feeling heavy, stressed, anxiety, and just simply overwhelmed with just life. Meet them, oh God. Meet them right where they are. Bring them peace that only you can bring. Give them strength that only you can give. And allow them to have the direction from you for what's next. Constantly remind us that we're not alone and that we were loved, and that our story still matters. God, continue to show yourself to us in the realest way possible. Not religion, not all the pressure, just your truth, your love, and your peace, oh God. Amen. Alright, guys. Happy Easter.
